Right! I'm now going to do an page by page guide to every Whizzer and Chips comic ever produced, including flyers, specials, annuals, free gifts, adverts and weeklies!


I'm also making a list of the issues I am missing - so any help is much appriciated!

Hot Rod's Artist Identified!

Wahay! I've finally found out who drew Hot Rod, thanks to Denis Gifford's book Encyclopedia of Comic Characters. Turns out that it was Alf Saporito who drew the characters, and the strip ran from 1969 to 1971, with reprints in Monster Fun!

Odd Ball's Fuel

When we first saw Odd Ball in 1969 we discovered that his favourite food was grass. Twenty years later, in 1989, he's still munching away at it!

Comic Advertising Flyer

This is one of the 'pink flyers' that was given away inside comics. This one probably came with Smash! This one reveals that Whizzer and Chips came out on 13th October 1969, but if it had been sold a week before it's cover date it would have gone on sale on the 11th.
